At the Annecy Film Festival, Netflix has revealed the first details of its upcoming animated spinoff series ‘Stranger Things: Tales From ’85’. This story is set in the harsh winter of 1985, and sounds interesting, right?

‘Stranger Things: Tales From ’85’ will show the story between seasons 2 and 3 of the original series, The Hollywood Reporter has reported. In this animated show, not only will our old familiar characters be there, but a new, powerful character will also make an entry. Meet Nikki! She is a dashing girl, whose Mohawk hairstyle and tremendous attitude show that she is no less than anyone! She and her gang will fight off weird monsters and solve a new paranormal mystery in Hawkins. Think another mystery in Hawkins!
An old Saturday morning cartoon with a twist!
Showrunner Eric Robles revealed that the idea for the show came from old Saturday morning cartoons like Scooby-Doo, Masters of the Universe, and The Real Ghostbusters. But folks, even though the vibe is retro, the look is going to be very modern! Think Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and Arkane animation styles, mixed with Goosebumps-esque visuals! Sounds awesome!
The character designs are by Mabis Ruiz Cruz, and the scary creatures like the zombie pumpkin and the toothy ice shark are brought to life by Carlos Huante. So, be prepared to be scared!
Familiar names behind the scenes too!
The creators of ‘Stranger Things’, the Duffer Brothers, are the executive producers of this animated series through their production company Upside Down Pictures. They are also joined by Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen (21 Laps), Hilary Levitt and Eric Robles (Flying Bark Productions). When so many legends are together, imagine how amazing the show will be!
When will this animated blast come?
There is no fixed release date for it yet, but Netflix has confirmed that ‘Stranger Things: Tales From ’85’ can be released anytime in the year 2026. So you will have to wait a bit, but this wait will definitely be worth it!
