Best OTT Film Release Soon – If you’ve been eagerly awaiting the release of Rishab Shetty’s magnificent film “Kantara: Chapter 1” at home after its release on the big screen, your efforts are about to pay off. After earning a staggering ₹810+ crore worldwide gross, according to reports at the box office, the film is now ready to hit the OTT platform!

The film is releasing on Amazon Prime Video on October 31st (tomorrow). Prime Video announced this, writing, “Get ready to witness the legendary adventure of Berme.” Along with this announcement, they also released a powerful trailer for the film, in which Rishab Shetty’s character, “Berme,” is seen preparing for war.

This is where fans in the Hindi belt have received a major shock. Prime Video has decided to release ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ in its original Kannada language, as well as dubbed in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. Unfortunately, Hindi has been excluded from this list of release languages!

Fans have immediately expressed their displeasure. Many users on social media have commented: “Hit reviews will only come if you bring Hindi” and “What about Hindi?” Most people are asking when the Hindi version will be released.


According to industry trackers and reports, the Hindi version is expected to be released on OTT platforms after the completion of the 8-week theatrical window, i.e., around the end of November approximately November 26th. This is due to the film’s previous deal.

Apart from the delay in the Hindi dub, there’s another thing that has surprised fans. The film was released in theaters on October 2nd, and is arriving on OTT in less than a month October 31st!

When the film is such a huge box office blockbuster, becoming one of the highest-grossing Indian films of 2025, why is it so soon on OTT? A partner of the production house, Hombale Films, explained the reason for this “early release.” They say that this decision isn’t a recent one, but a three-year-old contract they are forced to fulfill. This deal was struck when the film wasn’t expected to achieve such massive box office records.

The Story of ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ A Mythological Journey

This film is a prequel to the 2022 superhit ‘Kantara.’ Its story is set during the time of the Kadamba dynasty and tells the story of mythological tales and the birth of deities such as ‘Panjurli Daiva’, ‘Guliga’, and ‘Chavundi’.

Rishabh Shetty had said, “This story is deeply rooted in our soil… When I started working on this prequel, I wanted to go back to the origins of this world – to the roots that inspired it.” On the same day as the film’s OTT release on October 31st, it is also releasing in English in cinemas worldwide.
