Oscars 2025: A surprising result came out at this year’s Oscars. The low-budget comedy film ‘Anora’ surprised everyone by winning five Oscars. The film won several major awards, including Best Film and Best Actress. Adrian Brody won the Best Actor award.

In ‘Anora’, Mickey Madison plays a sex worker who marries a Russian billionaire’s son. The film, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival last year, was well received. The film became the fourth to win the Palme d’Or, the Oscar for Best Film.

The film’s producer, Sean Baker, won the best director, editing and original screenplay awards. He paid tribute to the sex worker community in his first speech. “They have shared their stories and life experiences. I respect them very much, and I share it with you,” he said. Baker was the first to win four Oscars for the same film in one night.

In his director’s speech, he asked, “Where did we fall in love with the movies?” he answered, “In theatres.” He urged filmmakers to “keep making movies for the big screen” so we can “preserve a community experience that you don’t get at home.”

Twenty-five-year-old Madison, who beat favourite Demi Moore for ‘The Substance,’ described it as “pretty surreal” in his speech. “I also want to recognize andhonourr the sex worker community,” he said. “I will continue to support and be an ally.”

Adrien Brody’s comeback:

Adrien Brody won his second Best Actor Oscar for playing the lead role in Brady Corbet’s post-war drama ‘The Brutalist.’ He spoke about the “delicate profession” of acting and his new outlook on his return to the stage.

Controversy and politics:

Host Conan O’Briequestionedut the film’s success at this particular political moment. “I think Americans are excited to see that someone has finally stood up to the powerful Russians,” he said to thunderous applause.

The message of ‘No Other Land’:

The film ‘No Other Land’, made by an Israel-Palestine collective, won the documentary feature award. Palestinian co-director Bassel Adra spoke about the need for “serious action” to “stop the injustice and ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people.”
