Cocktail 2 Review – Shahid Kapoor, Rashmi Mandanna, and Kriti Sanon starrer Cocktail 2 has hit theatres. Its sequel, Part 1, was also released 14 years ago, and it created quite a stir among audiences. The story goes something like this that in the film, Kunal, i.e. Shahid Kapoor, is living a happy love life with his girlfriend Diya, i.e. Rashmi Mandanna. Both are very happy with each other but they have no plans of marriage yet.
One day, Diya, i.e. Rashmi Mandanna, gets the thought that in the future, Kunal, i.e. Shahid Kapoor, will not cheat on her like other boys, will he do it for the sake of girls? All these thoughts troubled Rashmi, i.e. Diya a lot, after which she goes on a trip with Kunal, where she meets her old friend Elli, i.e. Kriti Sanon. Elli is fond of travelling the world, so Diya and Kunal also go out with her to visit different places.
Then one day, Diya gets the idea for her boyfriend Kunal that she should test his loyalty, after which she takes help from her friend Elli, and Elli starts getting closer to Kunal with her hot and bold acts. Meanwhile, Elli falls in love with Kunal. But Dia and Kunal were already in a relationship. What twists this story will take, you’ll have to see in the theatres. While the first half of this film is quite good, the second half slows down, which can be boring in many places. Compared to the first part, this film lacks comedy scenes, which were sorely missed.
Part 1 featured Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana, which offered a fair amount of comedy and romance, while Cocktail 2’s script felt a bit lacklustre. Kriti Sanon dazzled on screen with her hot style, but Kriti’s role as Ellie failed to capture the same feel as Deepika Padukone’s Veronica. It’s a decent film, lacking the same quality as the first part.
