Online Electricity Connection – No Need to Visit Offices, How to Apply Online from Mobile in Minutes

Online Electricity Connection: People often have to move house for work or other reasons. Consequently, they require various utility connections, ranging from gas and water to electricity. This situation often causes significant inconvenience, as obtaining a new electricity connection typically involves running from pillar to post and making multiple visits to government offices. However, if you reside in Uttar Pradesh and need a new electricity connection, there is no need to worry; you can apply for it right from the comfort of your home.

Information via Social Media
The Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) announced on its official social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), that getting an electricity connection is now much more convenient than before. A key feature of this system is that consumers can apply using their Aadhaar card without leaving their homes. In addition to Aadhaar, a few other documents are required.

How to Get an Electricity Connection Online
The entire process for obtaining either a permanent or temporary electricity connection is now conducted online. UPPCL has introduced a facility allowing consumers to apply for connections online via the ‘Jhatphat’ portal.

How to Pay Charges

You don’t need to worry about paying the connection charges, as you can pay online as well. Once you pay the fee, the meter will be installed, and your electricity connection will be activated. Visit the Jhatphat portal and follow the simple application process.

No Need to Visit Offices

The most significant advantage is that you can apply for the connection and upload the necessary documents online. This means you no longer need to visit an office for every minor task related to your electricity connection; you can complete everything online. After you submit your application online, officials will review it and prepare a technical report based on the details provided. Next, officials will complete the remaining steps to grant the connection.
