1. Major RBI Decisions on Interest Rates

In a significant move, the Reserve Bank of India, for the third time in 2023, reduced the repo rate by 50 basis points to 5.50%, the first two instances being in March and May. The Cash Reserve Ratio with the RBI has also been reduced by 1%, pumping ₹2.5 lakh crore into the system for improving liquidity. This aligns with the RBI’s neutral stance with respect to money brought into the economy by borrowing those banks, as opposed to an accommodating one.

7. Update on Monsoon

8. Postponement of UPSC Examinations
