UP Police SI Exam Starts Today, Don’t Forget These Documents

New Delhi: If you have applied for the position of Sub-Inspector (SI) in the Uttar Pradesh Police, please note that the examination will now be conducted over two days. Strict administrative arrangements have been put in place regarding the examination. It is the department’s responsibility to examine with complete transparency. The written examination for the direct recruitment of Police SI posts (2025) will be held across the state on March 14 and 15.

Examination centres have been designated for this purpose. To prevent any irregularities during the examination, the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board has released comprehensive information, including detailed examination guidelines. Candidates are required to reach the examination centre ahead of schedule. The entry of any electronic devices into the examination centre is strictly prohibited.

Required Identification Documents

To gain entry into the examination centre, candidates must present a valid identity card. Candidates are required to carry one of the following documents: Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID Card, Passport, or Driving License. All candidates are advised to reach the centre 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. The gates of the centre will be closed half an hour before the examination begins. Candidates whose Aadhaar Cards are either unregistered or contain mismatched details are required to reach the centre 2.5 hours (two and a half hours) in advance.

Examination Schedule

The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board will conduct the examination on March 14 and 15 in two shifts per day. The first shift will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM (noon), while the second shift will be conducted from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Important Rules and Regulations for the Examination

Candidates are required to report to the examination centre—carrying their Admit Card, Aadhaar Card/Identity Proof (such as a Driving License or Passport), and a black or blue ballpoint pen—at least two hours before the commencement of the examination. The entry gates to the examination centre will be completely closed 30 minutes before the examination begins.

No candidate will be granted entry thereafter. Candidates are strongly advised to reach the examination centre on time to avoid any inconvenience. Furthermore, candidates must carefully read all the instructions printed on their Admit Cards and ensure strict compliance with them.
