UP Board 2026 Exam Centres. For students studying under the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP), this is significant news. The UP Board has announced a new centre allocation policy for the 2026 exams. Under the new policy, exam centre allocation will now be done through a completely digital and transparent system. This time, the student capacity at centres has been increased from 2,000 to 2,200. According to the board, this decision was taken to further streamline exam management and ensure student convenience.

Millions of candidates appear for the UP Board exams each year, prompting the board to prepare in advance. Following the new centre allocation policy, the date sheets for grades 10 and 12 may be released.

Exam centres will be determined through a digital system

Under the new policy, exam centres will now be determined using a computer-based geo-data system. Prioritisation will be given to criteria such as school infrastructure, laboratory availability, and CCTV systems.

The centre allocation process will begin on November 10th and be completed by December 30th, 2025. Students will be allocated examination centres within a radius of 7 to 15 kilometres from their schools, so they don’t have to travel long distances.

Point System for Ranking Schools

The UPMSP has implemented a point-based evaluation system this year. Schools with better infrastructure, lab facilities, and camera systems will receive more points, increasing their chances of becoming an examination centre.

Interestingly, schools that register attendance online for the first time will receive an additional 10 points. This is aimed at increasing transparency and promoting the use of technology.

Question papers will be kept securely in four double-locked shelves

The UP Board has also taken a major initiative regarding examination security. While last year, three double-locked cabinets were placed at the centres, this time four double-locked shelves will be installed.

Question papers will be stored securely in these shelves, which will be monitored by CCTV. The board states that by tightening security protocols, efforts are being made to completely prevent incidents like paper leaks.

Over 5.2 million students will appear for the UP Board Exams 2026

This year, a total of over 5.2 million students have registered for the UP Board’s high school and intermediate examinations. While there has been a decrease of approximately 2.25 lakh students in the intermediate exam, there has been an increase in high school registrations. The board will likely conduct the exams between February and March 2026.

UPMSP Emphasises Transparency

UPMSP has clarified that the new centre allocation policy aims to establish a corruption-free and transparent examination system. The board states that the digital system will not only ensure fair allocation of examination centres but will also provide relief to students. Detailed guidelines have also been issued to district education officers regarding the conduct of the exams.
