Integrated Courses After 12th : The very flexible study options that follow high school education are putting forth less time, fast in giving a person both degrees, and also carving a good career base which makes these integrated specialized courses available among the viable options available to the learner. These courses that integrate UG-(undergraduate) and PG-(postgraduate) studies into one single program are now being provided by the best universities like the IITs, Delhi University, JNU, and IISERs.

Integrated courses are special programs awarding a student both bachelor’s and master’s degrees on the same day. Usually, integrated courses take 5 years to complete. Some of the examples are B. Tech + M. Tech; B. Sc. + M. Sc; B.A. + M.A., or in law BA LLB.

Now comes the fun part. Firstly, integrated courses save time. Just for comparison, doing UG and PG separately would take around 6 years, but with integrated courses, you finish both in 5 years. Second, you are spared from red-tapism since once you get admitted to the integrated program, you do not need to apply afresh for PG admission. Third, if you are aspiring for a research career, integrated programs give very good academic groundings and research foundations.

Let’s see which colleges/universities offer the courses. The following are just a few examples:

IITM, IIT-KGP B.Tech. + M.Tech.

IISERs BS + MS

JNU, BHU, HCU BA + MA

Delhi University integrated courses as part of their four-year program

Law colleges such as NLU, NALSAR offering BA LLB or BBA LLB

Private universities such as Amity, Ashoka, and Shiv Nadar offering various integrated programs

Students who passed class 12 can apply for the said course. Some institutes conduct entrance examinations like JEE, CUET, CLAT, etc. or conduct their own tests.

So, if an easy passage through academics leading into a sound career seems to interest you, then integrated courses can be an intelligent option.
