IIT Guwahati Opens Correction Window. If you are pursuing higher education and have applied for GATE 2026, then IIT Guwahati has activated the GATE 2026 Application Correction Window. Candidates who have already completed the application process can now make necessary corrections to their information through the GOAPS portal (goaps.iitg.ac.in). This correction facility opened for candidates on October 28th, and the deadline for making changes is November 3rd, 2025.

Key Dates for GATE 2026 Application Corrections
IIT Guwahati has released all the important dates for the GATE 2026 application process. You can find the complete details in the table below:
- Last date for applications without late fees: October 7, 2025
- Last date for applications with late fees: October 13, 2025
- Application Correction Window Opens: October 28, 2025
- Last date for applications: November 3, 2025
- GATE 2026 Exam Dates: February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026
Candidates are advised to update their application forms before the deadline to correct any errors, as no changes will be permitted after the deadline.

Candidates can log in directly to make corrections to their GATE 2026 application by visiting the link https://goaps.iitg.ac.in/login.
Application Correction Process
Follow the steps below to edit the GATE 2026 form:
- First, visit the official GATE website at gate2026.iitg.ac.in.
- Click on the GOAPS portal and log in with your enrollment ID and password.
- The “Application Correction” link will appear on the dashboard. Click on it.
- Select the details you wish to correct and update them.
- Some changes will require payment of a prescribed fee.
- After saving the changes, submit the form and take a printout.
What information can be corrected?
As per IIT Guwahati’s guidelines, candidates can update the following details in their application form:
- Name (if entered incorrectly)
- Gender change – from male to female or female to male
- Category change – from General to OBC/SC/ST or vice versa
- Disability status (PwD) – Change “Yes” or “No” with required documents
- Information regarding dyslexia or other learning disabilities
- Parent or guardian’s address
- College name, location, roll number, or registration number
- Exam paper – Can be added or deleted (as per available options)
- Exam city – Changes to the exam city will be allowed, corrections will apply
Candidates will be charged a fee for certain changes made during the GATE 2026 application correction. The fee amount will depend on the type of change. For example, changing the exam city or paper generally costs up to ₹500, while changing the category or gender incurs different fees.

When will the GATE 2026 exam be held?
IIT Guwahati has also announced the dates for the GATE 2026 exam. The exam will be held on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026, at various centres across the country.
