The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the notification for the CTET February 2026 exam. The exam date has already been announced, so now millions of candidates are waiting for the application process to begin. The board may open the online form-filling process at any time. The Central Teacher Eligibility Test 2025 is required to become a government teacher. The CTET exam evaluates candidates’ eligibility for teaching positions in primary and upper primary schools. This exam consists of two papers covering child pedagogy, language, and subject-specific knowledge.

Paper 1 and Paper 2 – What qualifications are required for which?
The CTET exam is conducted in two parts: Paper 1 and Paper 2. Both papers determine the eligibility of teachers for different classes, so the educational qualifications for each are different.
Paper 1 (Classes 1 to 5 Teachers)
To appear for Paper 1, candidates must have the following qualifications:
At least 50% marks in 12th grade, along with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) or equivalent. In some cases, candidates with a Graduation + B.Ed. are also considered eligible.
Paper 2 (Classes 6 to 8 Teachers)
Candidates must have the following qualifications for Paper 2:
A Bachelor’s degree, along with a 2-year D.El.Ed. or equivalent course.

Application Fees – How much will you have to pay?
The application fee for CTET February 2026 varies depending on the category and number of papers.
- General/OBC Category
- Only Paper 1 or Paper 2: ₹1000
- Both Papers: ₹1200
- SC/ST/Differently Abled Candidates
- Only One Paper: ₹500
- Both Papers: ₹600
Candidates must pay the fee online (debit card, credit card, net banking, etc.).

When is the CTET February 2026 exam date?
According to the notification issued by CBSE, the CTET February 2026 exam will be held on February 8, 2026. The exam will be conducted on the same day in different shifts. The admit card download link will be made available on the official website a few days before the exam.
