CBSE Central Sector Scholarship : The Central Sector Scholarship Scheme for College and University Students 2025-26 is an online application form made available by CBSE for the candidates. This sponsored Government scholarship is for encouraging meritorious students from weaker economic backgrounds in higher education. The application mode is online through the National Scholarship Portal-scholarships.gov.in-the last date is marked as October 31, 2025, for submission of online application.

Eligibility Criteria for Application

Students with a Class 12 examination from any affiliated school of CBSE may apply for the scholarships for any recognized undergraduate or postgraduate course. The family income of the student should be less than ₹4.5 lakh per annum for eligibility to the scheme and should have secured some higher marks in the Class 12 Board Examination, usually within the 20 percentile of the respective board examination.

Amount and Duration of Award

Under the scheme, ₹12,000 per annum, for a maximum of 3 years, will be awarded to selected undergraduate scholars, while the postgraduate will receive ₹20,000 per annum. The scholarship helps to relieve bright students who had to suspend their studies due to a lack of financial support.

Renewal Applications Also Accepted

Renewal is open to students who previously received grants. The grants for 2021, 2022, 2023, or 2024 could apply for renewal up to four times, depending on their grant levels.

Online Application Process

The National Scholarship Portal is where the student would get information and required documents for submission. Fill the form online with personal and academic details. While filling in the documents, an applicant must also attach mark-sheets, an income certificate, and an identification proof. It should be particularly noted that applications must be verified from the institution being applied to; otherwise it will become null and void.

The Central Sector Scholarship scheme is presently implemented by the Department of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education. This will undoubtedly play an important part in enabling deserving students to pursue their studies without financial hindrance.
