CBSE Board Exam 2026: There is important news for the students going to give the CBSE board exam in the year 2026. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a notification informing that the attendance of students appearing for the 10th, 12th board exams must be 75%. If there is no 75% attendance, then the students are refused permission to take the exam. Therefore, students should focus on their attendance.

These students can be given an exemption

According to the notification issued by CBSE, students can be exempted only in emergency cases like medical emergencies, participation in national or international sports events, and other serious reasons. However, for this, students will have to provide the necessary documents.
The order given to schools
CBSE has issued a notification ordering schools to inform all students and parents about the 75% rule and also tell them what will happen if this rule is not followed. If a student does not come to school due to a medical emergency, they will have to apply for leave with the necessary documents. If the school is not informed, attendance will not be considered.
Class 10th exam will be conducted twice next year
Class 10th exam will be conducted twice next year. The main exam will be conducted from 17 February to 6 March 2026. After this, the second exam will be conducted from 5 May to 20 May 2026.

At the same time, the 12th class exam will be conducted only once a year. This exam will start from 15 February and will be held till 4 April 2026.

New syllabus books will be available from the 2026-27 session
The Ministry of Education has informed that the board exams in session 2025-26 will be conducted on the basis of the old syllabus. It will take 2 years for the new syllabus books to arrive. After the new books arrive, new books for classes 8th, 10th, and 12th will be available from the 2026-27 session.
