Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched a special program called “LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana” to empower rural women by providing financial independence and job opportunities. The initiative, implemented under the state-owned life insurance company LIC, was officially launched at a function in Panipat, Haryana.

The event was attended by Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, along with other Union and state ministers. This scheme aims to strengthen women’s financial security and boost employment opportunities across rural India.

Benefits of LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana

Women can work as insurance agents under the LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana and earn financial assistance along with commission-based incentives.

Monthly Financial Support:

  • ₹7,000 per month in the first year
  • ₹6,000 per month in the second year
  • ₹5,000 per month in the third year

Extra Incentive: ₹2,100 additional incentive for meeting insurance targets

Employment Opportunities

  • In the first phase, 35,000 women will be recruited as insurance agents.
  • In the future, 50,000 more women will be included in this program.
  • The scheme has started in Haryana and will be gradually expanded to other states across the country.

Who Can Apply?

Women interested in this scheme must meet the following requirements:

  • Age Limit: 18 to 50 years
  • Education: Must have passed at least secondary school (10th standard)
