Self-attestation: Sign your signature at the bottom of that xerox copy. This is called a ‘self-attested’ copy. If you want, you can write the words “Self Attested” above the signature, but just signing will do.

Digital copy: Now take a picture or scan the signed page. Keep in mind that the format of this file must be PDF and the size should be within 300 KB (300 KB).

Ways to reduce large size documents to 300 KB

PDF will not work for images and signatures like documents. Here the format must be JPG and the size must be below 50 KB.

Use any online ‘Image Compressor’ tool.

Upload a passport size photo or a photo of a signature on white paper.

Set 40 KB as the target size.

‘Compress’ the image and download it. This will not damage the quality of the image, but the size will be reduced.

Tips for mobile users: If you are doing the entire process from a smartphone, it will be convenient to work if you turn on the “Desktop Mode” of the browser.
