Features of NRLM
Under NRLM, women’s self-help groups have 10-15 members. In which self-help groups can be formed with special money, i.e. groups formed in inaccessible areas, or groups in remote tribal areas.
In this, self-help groups are informal groups, and there is no need to register under any Society Act, State Cooperative Act or Partnership Firm. It is necessary for the federations of self-help groups formed at the village level, cluster level, and higher levels to be registered under it in their states.
In this, people get loans ranging from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 10 lakh in the initial stage. Here, the loan repayment period is from 1 year to 6 years; the special thing is that no collateral fee is charged for the NRLM loan.
