The government responded to the rumour of the 500-rupee note
The central government, while responding in the House, made it clear that there is no plan to ban the 500 rupee note. This means that, along with Rs 100 and Rs 200, Rs 500 notes will also be available from ATMs as before. Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary has given important information in a written reply.
He informed that the decision of printing and circulation of notes is taken by the RBI with the advice of the government. So that people will not face any problem in transactions. Along with this, the RBI had issued a circular dated 28 April 2025. In this, banks and white label ATM operators were asked to ensure that Rs 100 and Rs 200 notes also came out regularly from their ATMs.
RBI did not make any change
