Salary Hike: Good news for Shikshamitras. Currently, around 1.43 lakh Shikshamitras are teaching in schools across Uttar Pradesh. They are regarded as the backbone of basic education. After a lengthy wait, they have finally received some significant relief. The Uttar Pradesh government has officially announced an increase in their honorarium, which will directly benefit the income of millions of families. Following the announcement in the Assembly, it is evident that Shikshamitras will now earn more money each month than they did previously.
In light of inflation, rising household expenses, and the costs of children’s education, this additional income will serve as a crucial support for them. This decision, made just before Holi, is viewed as a major relief for Shikshamitras. Now, everyone is eagerly awaiting when they will start receiving their increased salaries. Let us share the complete details with you.
The salary will be set at Rs 18,000
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced in the Assembly that the honorarium for Shikshamitras will rise to 18,000 rupees per month. Previously, they were receiving 10,000 rupees, which means an increase of 8,000 rupees. This rise is seen as a response to a long-standing demand from Shikshamitras. The government emphasizes that their role in the education system is crucial, and thus, it is important to provide them with financial empowerment. This decision will directly enhance the monthly income of millions of families and is regarded as a significant relief among Shikshamitras.
Implementation will begin in April
The government has confirmed that the increased honorarium will take effect from April. This indicates that the payment will be reflected in the April salary, at the rate of 18,000 rupees per month. Consequently, Shikshamitras will start enjoying the benefits of this increased amount with the commencement of the new financial year. The necessary administrative procedures are being finalized to ensure that Shikshamitras’ salaries are credited to their accounts starting in April.
This decision will not only impact Shikshamitras. The salaries of over 28,000 instructors have also been increased. They will now receive 17,000 rupees per month. Instructors assist students in special subjects and activities in schools. Therefore, their role is considered crucial. The salary increase will directly improve their income. Instructors will also begin to benefit from the increased salary once the new rates are implemented in April.
