What is Baal Aadhaar Card?

It is issued for children below 5 years of age. Biometric data is not taken in it, it is made only on the basis of the child’s photo and the parents’ documents. It has a blue color theme.

These important documents are required to get Aadhar card made for children

– Birth certificate of the child

– Aadhaar card of either of the parents (on the basis of which the child’s Aadhaar will be made)

– Address proof (like electricity bill, ration card, bank statement etc.)

Online process to make Aadhar card for children

Step 1: Visit the UIDAI website (https://uidai.gov.in).

 

Step 2: Select the nearest Aadhaar centre from the “Book Aadhaar Appointment” section.

 

Step 3: Go to the centre with the child and parents’ documents.

 

Step 4: Child’s photo will be taken (biometrics is not taken below 5 years of age).

 

Step 5: Within a few days, you will receive your child’s Aadhaar card via post or by downloading it online.

 

After the age of 5 years: The child’s fingerprints and eye scanning are taken.

 

At age 15: Biometrics are updated again to ensure identification remains accurate.
