PM Kisan Yojana – Big news for some Indian Farmer’s. 2.38 lakh farmers who have not done farmer registration may be deprived of the benefits of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. After May 15, the central government will issue the 20th installment under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. In the district, two lakh 62 thousand farmers have got the farmer registration done as compared to five lakh, which is 53 percent as compared to the set target.

Under this scheme of the Central Government, an amount of two thousand rupees is deposited in the account of the farmers in every installment. Now farmer registry has been made mandatory for the 20th installment. Under this, it will be easy to get many facilities like crop loan, crop insurance compensation, disaster relief etc.
About 6 lakh farmers of the district will get the benefit. In the first phase under Farmer Registry, farmers can prepare it themselves or through Jan Suvidha Kendras through the web portal (https://upfr.agristack.gov.in) or mobile app (Farmer Registry UP) created for this scheme. Whereas, under the second option, the campaign is being conducted by setting up camps at the Gram Panchayat level.
Currently, farmers have to submit revenue records repeatedly to get any loan. With farmer registration, their complete details can be viewed by entering their number on the related app, this will make it easier to make and implement farmer welfare schemes.
There will also be convenience in verification of beneficiaries, marketing of agricultural produce and other financial matters. Along with this, it will be easy to identify farmers for payment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, Kisan Credit Card for crop loan, crop insurance, compensation to farmers during disaster.
