The PAN card, or Permanent Account Number, is an important document. It is a 10-digit card given by the Income Tax Department to file income tax returns. You also need a PAN card to open a new bank account. If you don’t have a PAN card, you can apply for an instant e-PAN card. First, let’s understand what an e-PAN card and an instant e-PAN card are.
e-PAN and Instant e-PAN
Every citizen needs a PAN card. The government has made it easy to get a PAN card. You can get an e-PAN card instead of a physical card. It has a 10-digit number and your digital signature. You can use it for financial work. You can also apply for e-PAN while applying for a physical PAN.
Instant e-PAN is for people who do not have a PAN card. You need an Aadhaar number and linked mobile number. It is free and gives a digital PAN. You can also update PAN details through Aadhaar e-KYC.
