What is Chhattisgarh Unemployment Allowance Scheme

The main objective of the Chhattisgarh Unemployment Allowance Scheme is to provide financial assistance to the educated unemployed youth of the state so that they can meet their basic needs till they get employment. Under this scheme, the Chhattisgarh State Government provided an amount of up to ₹ 2500 per month to the youth, which was continuously available for several months.

This scheme was started in the state by the then Congress government. However, currently there is a BJP government in the state, and as soon as the government changed, its portal was closed, which has not started yet. This means that applications cannot be made for this scheme at the moment.

This scheme has proved to be a boon for unemployed youth in many ways:

  • The amount received as allowance proves to be very useful for the youth.
  • Many youth can spend more time looking for employment using the amount received in unemployment allowance, giving them a chance to improve their skills or prepare for interviews.

Eligibility Criteria for Unemployment Allowance Scheme

When this scheme was active, it had the following eligibility conditions:

  • The applicant must be a permanent resident of Chhattisgarh state.
  • The age of the applicant should be between a minimum of 18 years and a maximum of 35 years.
  • The applicant must have passed at least 12th class from a recognized board.
  • The applicant should not have any source of income, i.e. he should be completely unemployed.
  • The total annual income of the applicant and his entire family should be less than ₹ 2.50 lakh.

How to apply online for Unemployment Allowance Scheme

Applications cannot be made at present, but if the portal starts again, in such a case you will be able to easily apply online for this scheme. The approximate process of application is as follows:

  • First of all, all the applicants have to visit the official portal of the Unemployment Allowance Scheme.
  • Click on the ‘Register’ option and complete your registration by entering the requested information (such as name, address, mobile number, and email ID).
  • After registration, open the application form by logging in and fill all the required information correctly.
  • If required documents are asked for, scan and upload them.
  • After uploading all the information and documents, submit the unemployment allowance scheme application form.
  • After submission, you will get a registration number or receipt, which must be kept safe for future reference.
