Train Cancelled: The start of February is going to be a bit of a hassle for those taking the train to Jharkhand. A bunch of trains passing through Tatanagar will be impacted because of major development work happening in the Adra division of South Eastern Railway. This work to reinforce tracks and improve rail infrastructure will definitely affect train schedules.
During this time, some trains will be completely cancelled, others will be halted midway, and a few will be rerouted. If you have plans to travel in February, make sure to check your train status beforehand to steer clear of any surprises.
Here’s a list of the affected trains
According to the railway’s updates, this block will hit daily commuter MEMU passengers the hardest. Train No. 68046 and Train No. 68045 Asansol Adra Asansol MEMU will be fully cancelled on February 3, 5, and 7, 2026. Train No. 68077 and Train No. 68078 Adra Bhaga Adra MEMU won’t be running on February 3, 5, and 8.
Additionally, Train No. 68053 and Train No. 68054 Adra Barabhum Adra MEMU will be cancelled on February 8th. Even though these trains don’t directly go through Tatanagar, they will still affect connecting trips along the Adra route. Passengers heading beyond Tatanagar should check the schedules, routes, and alternative transport options ahead of time to avoid any hassle on travel day.
This block will have a direct effect on passengers who depend on local connections from Tatanagar to Adra and further. Train numbers 68056 and 68060 Tatanagar Asansol Barabhum MEMU will short-terminate and short-originate from Adra on February 3, 4, 5, and 7, 2026. Travelers on this route should plan ahead. It’s probably best to take a bus or other trains during these days.
Train numbers 18019 and 18020 for the Jhargram Dhanbad Jhargram Express will be running from Bokaro Steel City between February 2nd and 5th. This means the train won’t make it to Dhanbad on its usual path during these dates. So, if you’re planning to head to Dhanbad or further, make sure to sort out alternative travel plans ahead of time.
In other news, train numbers 13503 and 13504 Bardhaman Hatia Bardhaman MEMU Express will be departing from NSCB Gomoh on February 2. Meanwhile, train numbers 68090 and 68089 Adra Midnapore Adra MEMU will be short terminated at Garbheta from February 2 to 7, and will resume from Bishnupur on February 8.
Changes to Tatanagar-Hatia Express route
Train No. 18601 Tatanagar Hatia Express won’t be following its usual route on February 3, 4, 5, and 7, 2026. Instead, it will take a diverted path through Chandil, Gunda Bihar, and Muri. Because of this route change, some stops at intermediate stations might be impacted. If you have tickets for these stations, be sure to check the train status before you head out.
