Anyone can commit fraud with you by taking your information from your Aadhaar card.

Due to the use of Aadhaar card everywhere, people give their Aadhaar card to anyone without thinking, after which fraudsters can misuse the Aadhaar card and empty your bank account. In such a situation, if you also give your Aadhaar card to anyone, then you should be careful.

Fake loan

There have been some cases in which fraudsters apply for online loans by taking Aadhaar details. Later, recovery calls start coming to the real person, who has no idea about this loan. Think a hundred times before sharing Aadhaar information on any unknown app or website.

OTP Scam

In this scam, cyber thugs call on the phone and introduce themselves as bank or UIDAI officials. Then on some pretext they ask for the OTP received on your mobile. As soon as you share the OTP, money is withdrawn from your Aadhaar linked account. Remember, no government institution ever asks for OTP.

Base Cloning

The Aadhar card is scanned and its clone is made. This clone is used in many types of frauds by creating fake identity – like buying a SIM, opening a bank account or using an e-wallet. Do write ‘Only for KYC purpose’ on your copy of Aadhar.

Fake Aadhaar Centre

Some fraudsters open fake Aadhaar update or enrollment centers. These centers look like real ones but they have nothing to do with UIDAI, people give their documents and biometric data here, which is later used for fraud. In such a case, give your data only at registered Aadhaar centers.
