How to check PF balance online by UAN number?

If your UAN is activated, you can check EPF balance online by following the steps given below:

Step 1: Open the EPF portal website and go to the ‘Services’ section. Click on the ‘For Employees’ option here.

Step 2: Go to the ‘Services’ section and select ‘Member Passbook’ option.

Step 3: When the new page opens, enter the UAN number and password. Login after filling the captcha. If you have forgotten the password, click on ‘Forgot Password’ and follow the instructions given.

Step 4: A six-digit OTP will be sent to your Aadhaar linked mobile number.

Step 5: Enter the OTP and click on ‘Verify’. After this, your PF passbook will appear on the screen, where your EPF balance will be visible.

Keep these things in mind before checking EPF balance on EPFO ​​portal

UAN number must be active – To check EPF balance on EPFO ​​portal, it is mandatory to activate and register UAN beforehand. Wait for 6 hours after registration – Passbook can be accessed only after 6 hours of registration on the EPFO ​​portal.

Balance will be visible – The passbook will contain the information that has been recently updated by the EPFO ​​field office. Members of private trusts cannot view passbooks – Employees whose provident fund is managed by a private trust or exempted establishments cannot check their balance on the EPFO ​​portal.
