SIR Update: Following Bihar, the central government is conducting special intensive revisions in various states. The SIR process has also begun in Rajasthan on Tuesday. Here, BLOs will be able to conduct door-to-door voter surveys. They will also distribute enumeration forms until December 4th. Each voter will be required to fill out and submit these enumeration forms.
According to a report, Rajasthan currently has 54,884,827 voters. These include 28.4 million male voters, 26.5 million female voters, and 681 other voters. Chief Electoral Officer Naveen Mahajan shared important information regarding this matter.
He stated that from November 4th to December 4th, BLOs will visit voters’ homes to fill out two forms. One of these forms will remain with the voter as a receipt. Most importantly, online applications will also be available soon.
No Documentation Required
According to a report, the names of 65.3 per cent of voters have been matched with the previous SIR. Their names were not included in the previous SIR in the country; the details of their parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents will be matched. No documents are required with the EBI form, but the matching with the previous SIR will be performed. Identification documents will be obtained later.
The enumeration form is a one-page form containing the voter’s name, photo, voter card number, address, and other relevant information from the voter list. The voter must fill in their date of birth, Aadhaar number (optional), father’s or guardian’s name, mother’s name, voter card number (optional), and mobile number. A new colour photograph must be submitted.
Restrictions on Transfer of Election Employees
The Rajasthan government is very serious about the SIR. The government has completely banned the transfer of officers and employees involved in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists without the permission of the Election Commission during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists. This ban will continue till February 7, 2026. An order in this regard was issued by the Department of Administrative Reforms on Monday.
