Silver Price Crash: Gold and silver prices have been continuously falling for the past two days. The Union Budget of India is scheduled to be presented on February 1, 2026, and, consequently, the Indian stock and commodity markets will remain open even on Sunday. Trading in gold and silver will also take place alongside stock trading. The question on most people’s minds is whether import duties will be reduced and whether gold will become even cheaper.

Silver prices crashed last week.
On Friday, gold and silver prices suddenly crashed. Silver prices particularly shocked investors, as the MCX futures price of silver fell by more than 30%, reaching as low as Rs 1.28 lakh in a single day. The futures price of one kilogram of silver with a March 5th expiry crashed from its all-time high of Rs 4,20,048 per kg to Rs 2,91,922. Silver became cheaper by Rs 1,28,126.
