SBI Card fees to change from November 1! New charges to be levied

SBI Card Fees Revised: This news is going to prove very valuable for SBI Card users. SBI Card, one of India’s largest card companies, has announced changes to some of its service fees. These changes are expected to be implemented on November 1, 2025.

As soon as the rules come into effect, users may incur additional fees on certain transactions from next month. Following the changes, new charges will be levied on education-related payments. You may be surprised to know that paying for school or college fees using an SBI Card through a third-party app or website will prove to be a bit more expensive. SBI Card stated that an additional 1% charge will now be levied on such transactions. If you make a transaction directly through the school or college website or POS machine, you won’t incur any additional fees.

It’s important to pay attention to the payment method. Failure to do so could result in significant charges. If you load more than ₹1,000 into a digital wallet like Paytm or PhonePe, SBI Card will now charge an additional fee of ₹1. This charge will only apply to select merchant codes.

Old charges will remain in effect.t

SBI Card has continued to implement its old service charges. This means that services that were previously in effect will remain in effect. These include services like cash payments, check payments, card replacement, and late payments.

Cash Payment Fee: ₹250

Payment Dishonour or Fee: 2% of the payment amount (minimum ₹500)

Check Payment Fee: ₹200

Cash Advance Fee: 2.5% of the transaction (minimum ₹500)

Card Replacement Fee: ₹100 to ₹250 (₹1,500 for Aurum cards)

Emergency Card Replacement (overseas): $175 for Visa cards, $148 for Mastercard

What is the charge for late transactions?

If users fail to make the minimum payment on time or fail to pay the minimum amount due, SBI Card will charge late fees in various slabs.
