BIS has set 6 standards of purity

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has set 6 different standards for the purity of silver. These include 800, 835, 900, 925, 970, and 990. With this change, every hallmarked jewelry will have a unique 6-digit HUID code. With this, customers will be able to know immediately what the purity of their jewelry is and whether it is real or fake.
Why is hallmarking necessary
Hallmarking means an official guarantee of the purity of the metal. When the jewelry passes the test in the BIS lab, only then is it hallmarked. This assures the buyer that the jewelry he is buying is completely pure and that there has been no adulteration in it.
Customers will benefit
There is always a possibility of adulteration in jewelry without a hallmark. But with the new HUID code system, the possibility of fraud will almost end. Customers can immediately check the code marked on the jewelry through the BIS Care App. This will make the purchase transparent, and customers will feel more secure.
Like gold, now silver is also safe

In the year 2021, hallmarking was made mandatory on gold jewelry. In the same way, now the government is also guaranteeing trust in silver jewelry. This will not only keep the customers safe but will also increase transparency and trust in the entire jewelry industry.
