Rule Changes from February 1st: Today marks the beginning of February. Several rules change on the first of every month. Also, today, February 1st, the country’s Union Budget is being presented. While oil marketing companies have released new prices for LPG cylinders, some changes have also been made to FASTag rules. Changes related to cigarettes, tobacco, tobacco products, LPG gas, PNG, etc., will come into effect from February 1st. Several major changes in banking rules will take effect from today. LPG Cylinder Becomes More Expensive
Every month, on the first day, oil marketing companies revise the prices of LPG cylinders. New LPG prices have also been released on February 1, 2026. For the second consecutive month, the price of 19 kg LPG cylinders has increased, reaching up to Rs 50 more.
In Delhi, it has increased from Rs 1691.50 to Rs 1740.50. In Kolkata, the price of a 19 kg LPG cylinder is now Rs 1,844.50. In Mumbai, it will be available for Rs 1,692.00. In Chennai, the price has been increased to Rs 1,899.50. However, there has been no change in the prices of 14 kg domestic gas cylinders.

Changes in FASTag Rules
The National Highways Authority of India has announced that the KYC verification process for FASTag is being completely discontinued. Now that FASTag is active from February 1st, you will not need to undergo any additional KYC verification.
Bank Holidays
According to the list uploaded on the Reserve Bank of India website, there will be approximately 10 days of holidays in February, including the seven weekly holidays and occasions like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti.
New SBI Rules
SBI is India’s largest public sector bank. Some SBI rules will change from February 15th. These rules are related to SBI IMPS transaction charges. SBI has decided to change the service charges on some IMPS transactions.
ICICI Bank’s New Rules
From February 1, 2026, ICICI Bank will discontinue the free BookMyShow movie ticket benefit on some credit cards. However, the reward points earned on transport and insurance expenses will continue to accrue. The reward system will be further improved on some cards.
Cigarettes and Tobacco Products to Become More Expensive
From February 1, taxes on cigarettes, gutkha, zarda, paan masala, and other tobacco products will increase. The central government has increased the excise duty, and a health and national security cess has also been levied on paan masala. This will now put a greater burden on smokers’ pockets.
