What is the new rule of ration card?

The Ministry of Consumer, Food and Public Distribution of the Central Government has issued a notification on Wednesday. It has been said that it will be necessary for the states to get e-KYC done of all ration card holders every 5 years. Its purpose is to prevent duplication of ration cards and to remove those who break in. By removing ineligible people from the list every 5 years through e-KYC, the benefit of free food grains is to be given to other eligible people.

In the notification issued by the central government, it has been said that now the ration card can be made only after completion of 18 years.
