According to railway officials, the new line between Bairabi and Sairang has not been electrified yet, so diesel engines will be used in this section. The journey from Guwahati to Delhi will be covered by electric engines. Let us tell you, apart from the Rajdhani Express, Prime Minister Modi will also flag off two more trains. These trains are Sairang-Guwahati Daily Express and Sairang-Kolkata Tri-weekly Train.

According to PTI, railway officials said that Bairabi, a border town of Mizoram, earlier had a meter gauge line, which was converted to broad gauge in 2016. Now this line has been extended to Sairang. These trains are also starting with the inauguration of this line. The Bairabi-Sairang rail project, proposed in September 1999, is now going to connect Mizoram’s capital Aizawl to India’s railway network. This project has been completed by overcoming challenges like difficult geographical conditions, limited working period and frequent landslides.
