Ration Card holders will get mustard oil cheaper by Rs 7, Everyone is happy

Ration Card Update: Good news for Ration Card holders. Ration card holders in Himachal Pradesh will enjoy lower prices for mustard oil this month at fair price shops compared to last month. Mustard oil is now priced at Rs 153 per liter, down from Rs 160 per liter. Additionally, refined oil will also be available to consumers this month. Following a tender last month, the government has placed a supply order for refined oil with the company.

For the last seven months, ration card holders in the state have faced difficulties in obtaining refined oil. This month, refined oil will be sold at Rs 135 per liter, an increase from the previous price of Rs 125 per liter seven months ago. APL families will receive 12 kg of flour per family for Rs 12. Last month, 11 kg of flour was distributed, and prior to that, 14 kg was provided. Each family will also receive 6 kg of rice at Rs 13.

Approximately 19 lakh ration card holders in the state benefit from affordable rations available at fair price shops. Rajeshwar Goyal, the Managing Director of the Food Supply Corporation, mentioned that while the price of mustard oil has dropped, the price of refined oil has risen. A supply order has been placed to ensure the availability of refined oil.

Under the NFSA, 35 kg of ration will be provided free of charge at fair price shops. In April, 35 kg of ration will also be provided free of charge to NFSA, BPL, PHH, and Antyodaya families. This includes 18 kg, 800 grams of flour at 1 rupee 20 paise per kg, and 15 kg of rice.

Purushottam Singh, Controller of the Food Supply Department, District Kangra, stated that refined oil has been delivered to fair price shops. The 468,974 ration card-holding families in District Kangra will also benefit from this.
