Railway Rules Changing from March 1, Important Update for Train Passengers

Railways Rules: Every day, millions of passengers travel by train across the country. Some of them have reservations, while others opt for general tickets. Besides traveling, many individuals visit the railway station to see off their relatives and family members. Passengers have previously depended on the UTS app for purchasing either general or platform tickets.

However, this app is now being phased out. This change will impact millions of users. Fortunately, the Railways has introduced a new app to ensure that passengers face minimal inconvenience. This significant update to the railway ticket booking process will take effect on March 1st. From now on, you will need to utilize this new app for booking tickets.

Every day, millions of people across the nation book general tickets using their mobile devices. Thus, this change will primarily impact these everyday travelers. Currently, many individuals are waiting in line to purchase general tickets because they cannot access the UTS app. However, the new RailOne app is designed to be much more user-friendly.

All tasks will now be managed through the RailOne app

Starting March 1st, the old UTS app will be discontinued throughout the country. It will be replaced by the RailOne app. This new app will not only facilitate the booking of general and platform tickets but will also offer features such as reservations, live train status, and location tracking. This means there will be no need to visit different platforms for various tasks. A single app will manage all operations, saving a significant amount of time, especially for daily commuters.

How to book general tickets?

First, open the app and go to Journey Planner.
Select the “Unreserved” (or “General”) ticket option.
Now enter your starting station in the From Station field and the destination station in the To Station field.
If you’re in a hurry, turn on GPS; the app will automatically detect your location.
Then, select the train type: Mail, Express, or Superfast, depending on your route. Check all the details carefully to avoid any mistakes later.
Then make the payment.
Once the transaction is complete, the ticket will appear directly in the My Tickets section
From there, you can view the ticket or download a PDF if needed.
