The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday approved the payment of ₹1,865.68 crore as Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) for 78 days to 10,91,146 railway employees. This decision was taken in recognition of the outstanding performance of railway employees. PLB is paid to eligible railway employees every year before the Durga Puja/Dussehra holidays. This year too, approximately 10.91 lakh non-gazetted railway employees are being paid PLB equivalent to 78 days’ salary.
Bonus will encourage railway employees

This bonus serves as an incentive to motivate railway employees and work towards improving the performance of Indian Railways. The maximum amount of PLB payable to each eligible railway employee is ₹17,951, equivalent to 78 days’ salary. This huge amount will be paid to railway employees across various categories.
These include track maintainers, loco pilots, train managers (guards), station masters, supervisors, technicians, technician assistants, pointsmen, ministerial staff, and other Group C employees. This productivity-linked bonus will not only provide financial relief but also boost employee morale.
