According to information released by the Ministry of Petroleum last Monday, the government will provide free LPG connections to an additional 2.5 million poor women under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.

Documents Required for the Ujjwala Yojana

To successfully apply for the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana 2.0, you must have the following essential documents:

Aadhaar card of the female beneficiary (mandatory with e-KYC).

BPL Ration Card or Poverty Line Certificate.

Bank passbook clearly indicating the account number.

Passport-sized photo.

Residence Certificate, for which a ration card or voter ID can be used.

How to apply for a free LPG connection?
You can apply for the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana 2.0 either online or offline. Follow the simple steps below.

Online Application Process

To apply online, first visit the official website of your LPG company (such as Indane, HP, or Bharat Gas).

Next, click on the “New Ujjwala Yojana 2.0” option.

An application form will open. Enter your required details and upload the required documents.

After submitting the form, download it and submit copies of all documents to your nearest gas dealer. A free gas stove and cylinder will be installed in your home within 10-15 days.

Offline Application Process

To apply offline, first visit your gas agency and obtain the Ujjwala Yojana application form. Carefully fill in all the required information, such as your name, address, Aadhaar card number, other family members’ information, bank account number, and BPL card/ration card number. Submit the completed form to your nearest gas agency. Document verification will then take place, and a free LPG connection will be delivered to your home. This scheme not only provides clean fuel to the poor but also protects women from smoke-related illnesses.
