You can earn a lot with irrigation under a solar pump. Farmers can significantly increase their yield by planting crops in their barren land.

According to some reports, approximately 4 to 5 acres of land are required to set up a one-megawatt solar plant. Approximately 15 lakh electricity units can be produced annually. Farmers can sell electricity at the generating rate, which will also yield a substantial income. However, the government started the PM Kusum scheme in 2019.

It has been expanded over time. The Ministry of Energy is running this scheme. The central government provides a thirty per cent subsidy, and the state government provides a percentage. Accordingly, a 75% subsidy is available for installing solar panels.
