PM Kisan Yojana Update: The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is an important scheme of the central government, under which financial assistance is provided to farmers across the country. The benefits of this scheme are sent directly to the farmers’ bank accounts. Farmers who are eligible for this scheme receive a total of Rs 6000 annually.
This amount is not given to farmers all at once, but in three instalments of Rs 2000 each. So far, 21 instalments of this scheme have been released, and farmers are now waiting for the 22nd instalment.

How much money do farmers currently receive?
Currently, under the PM Kisan Yojana, farmers receive Rs 2000 three times a year. This money is transferred directly to their bank accounts through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer). Millions of farmers across the country are connected to this scheme.
Will the PM Kisan Yojana amount be increased?
There has been much discussion for some time that the government might increase the amount given under the PM Kisan Yojana from Rs 6000 to Rs 12000 annually. In December 2024, a parliamentary committee also suggested this to the government.
Recently, a question was asked on this issue in the Rajya Sabha. In response, the Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Ramnath Thakur, clarified that currently, the government has no proposal to increase this amount. This means that farmers will continue to receive Rs 6000 annually for now.

When will the 22nd instalment be released?
The 22nd instalment of the PM Kisan Yojana is expected to be released soon. It is estimated that this instalment may arrive in February, as each instalment is usually released at an interval of approximately four months. However, the government has not yet officially confirmed the date.
