Uttar Pradesh government has been working for farmers for a long time. As per various reports, they had accelerated the process to register the farmers under Kisan Samman Nidhu Yojana. Yogi Adityanath government has directed all district magistrates to update farmers’ details on the PM Kisan portal. Even the central government of India has asked farmers to register their names to get financial benefits. Special registration camps will be organised from October 16 to November 30, in which at least one camp will be mandatory in every village so that registration and update work can be done on the spot.
While the state has already completed over 50% of the total registration, some districts have done even better individually. According to news reports, These districts include Rampur (61.37%), Bijnor (58.92%), Hardoi (58.31%), Shravasti (58.01%), Pilibhit (57.58%), Ambedkar Nagar (57.46%), Moradabad (57.17%), Bareilly (56.80%), Ghaziabad (56.79%), and Kaushambi (56.09%). The Yogi government has urged farmers to complete their registration process to ensure they don’t miss out on the next PM Kisan Samman Nidhi installment.
Who will get financial help?
The benefits of farmer registration will be available not only in the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana but also in many other schemes. Once the farmer registration is complete, the hassle of collecting information from farmers each time will be eliminated.
How this scheme will benifit farmers
Under this scheme, farmers will be given a unique code that will identify them in government documents and schemes. Based on this code, farmers will receive benefits such as crop insurance, subsidies on agricultural equipment, and Kisan Credit Cards. Whether a farmer benefits from the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana or not, if they wish to join any government scheme, they will be required to register as a farmer. This registration will create a database for the government, making it easier to provide benefits.
This will also curb fraud, as no one will be able to benefit from government schemes by providing false information. The Farmer Registry will make all of a farmer’s farms available online, making it easier for the government to access information about their acreage and crops. The farmer’s Aadhaar number will be linked to the Farmer Registry. Once the Aadhaar number is linked, it will be easier to verify all information. Furthermore, there will be no need to repeatedly enter the farmer’s information.
If a farmer wishes to benefit from any scheme, they simply need to enter their unique Farmer Registry number. With that number, all their information will be available in one go.
