Every individual has a dream to have a housing of his or her own, however, for economically weaker section families it is hard to make that dream a reality. To assist those families build a good roof for themselves, the journey of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) began.
Eligible families in rural areas under this scheme get financial support of ₹1.20 lakh to ₹1.30 lakh for the construction of the house. For beneficiaries living in urban areas, the benefits are ₹2.50 lakh. With this money, poor families can build a house to live in and lead their lives in a better way. The basic aim of this scheme is to ensure that not a single family in the country is homeless, and everyone has a house to live in.
