Amid the ongoing tension with Pakistan, the country’s largest petroleum company, Indian Oil, has made a big statement on the rumors spreading about the supply of petrol and diesel. On Friday morning, Indian Oil issued an official statement saying that the company has adequate stock of petrol and diesel across the country. Our supply lines are running smoothly. So, if you are also upset with the news of the shortage of petrol and diesel, then rest assured now.

Indian Oil appeals to customers

Indian Oil has advised consumers that there is no need to panic and make unnecessary purchases. The company has clearly stated that fuel and LPG are easily available at all outlets. Therefore, do not crowd unnecessarily at petrol pumps.

Apart from this, the company has requested consumers to help them provide better service by staying calm and avoiding unnecessary crowds. This will keep our supply lines running without any interruption and ensure uninterrupted access to fuel for all! Show wisdom and do not pay attention to rumors.

Indian Oil is the largest oil company in the country

Let us tell you that Indian Oil is the largest petroleum company in the country. Apart from Indian Oil, BPCL, and HPCL, they together ensure the supply of petrol, diesel, LPG, and ATF (aviation fuel) across the country. These companies are working around the clock so that there is no shortage of energy in the country.

India has a large strategic storage

India has strategic storage centers of 5.33 million metric tonnes (MMT) capacity, located at 1.33 MMT in Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), 1.5 MMT in Mangaluru (Karnataka) and 2.5 MMT in Padur (Karnataka). All three are built underground and are sufficient to meet the country’s needs for about 9.5 days. Therefore, there will be no shortage of fuel in the country even in the event of any external crisis.

There will be no impact on crude oil imports

Moreover, Pakistan does not fall on any such trade route, which can have any impact on the import of crude oil from other countries. In such a situation, there is no possibility of any disruption in the supply of petrol and diesel in the country. India is dependent on many different countries for its energy needs, which reduces the risk of supply disruptions.

Petrol and diesel consumption in the country

According to the data of Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell, petrol consumption in the country is between 31.50 lakh tonnes to 35 lakh tonnes every month and diesel consumption is between 72 lakh tonnes to 82 lakh tonnes every month. The government and oil companies are fully prepared to meet this demand and adequate reserves are available! So, do not believe in rumors and maintain peace.
