PAN 2.0 Card- The Income Tax Department in India has recently introduced PAN 2.0 to further advance the PAN card system. Its purpose is to improve security and make the entire process easier. It provides the facility of e-PAN with scannable QR code, which offers fast authentication and reduces the chances of fraud or misuse of PAN card.
The digital version of this e-PAN is available for free and you can get it immediately through email. Whereas the physical PAN card arrives at the address given by you after paying a nominal fee. However, if you already have a regular PAN card which does not have a QR code, then it is still completely valid. That is, it is not compulsory for you to update it.
This new PAN card will also have a QR code. With the help of this QR code, identification of PAN card will become very easy. Giving information about the PAN 2.0 project on November 26, the Central Board of Direct Taxes said that through PAN 2.0, the process of management of PAN and TAN is to be modernized and streamlined.
