ATM in Train: Good news for train passengers. Now you will see ATM in train! Yes you’ve heard it right. Central Railway has installed an ATM in Panchvati Express for the convenience of passengers. At present, it has been started on a trial basis. If this service is successful, then further expansion of it will be discussed. This train runs between Manmad in Nashik and Mumbai.
According to officials of Bhusaval division of Central Railway, an automatic teller machine (ATM) has been installed on a trial basis in Mumbai-Manmad Panchvati Express. It was provided by a private bank. This ATM has been installed in the air-conditioned chair car coach of the daily express service. It will be made available to passengers soon.
Central Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Swapnil Neela told media that the ATM has been installed in the Panchvati Express on a trial basis. According to railway officials, the ATM has been installed in a room at the rear of the coach. It was earlier used as a temporary pantry.
A shutter door has been provided to ensure safety and access while the train is moving. According to railway officials, necessary modifications have been made in the coach at the Manmad Railway Workshop. Panchvati Express runs daily between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Manmad Junction and completes its one-way journey in about 4.35 hours. It is one of the popular trains on the route due to its convenient timings for intercity travel.
