New Vande Bharat: The Railways will soon be operating four new Vande Bharat Express trains across the country. These new trains will not only reduce travel time but also provide passengers with a world-class travel experience equipped with modern amenities. Upon receiving the Railways’ approval, the total number of Vande Bharat services in the country will reach 164.

These four new routes announced by the Railways will directly benefit passengers from several important states across the country. These routes will revolutionize travel for passengers by connecting major cities with religious, tourist, and commercial centers. The new Vande Bharat Express trains will operate on the Bengaluru-Ernakulam route, providing faster connectivity to passengers in Karnataka and Kerala.
Additionally, the Firozpur Cantt-Delhi route will facilitate travel between Punjab and the national capital. The third route, Varanasi-Khajuraho, will provide better connectivity to religious and tourist destinations for passengers in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. The Lucknow-Saharanpur route will significantly speed up travel within Uttar Pradesh.
Popularity of Vande Bharat
According to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, the popularity of Vande Bharat trains is continuously soaring. The average occupancy of these trains was 102.01% in the 2024-25 fiscal year, which has increased to 105.03% by June in the current 2025-26 fiscal year. This figure clearly shows how much Indian passengers like these state-of-the-art trains and how strong the demand is, prompting the Railways to continuously launch new routes.
Equipped with Modern Features

These new trains are also equipped with many modern and advanced features that make them better and safer. These features provide passengers with not only a comfortable but also a reliable travel experience. These trains are protected with an armor protection system, which helps prevent accidents. Their design speed is 180 km/h, while operating speeds are up to 160 km/h, making them one of the fastest trains in India. Jerk-free couplers are installed to provide passengers with a hassle-free ride experience. All coaches have automatic plug doors and sealed gangways, enhancing safety and convenience.
In addition, these trains also have specially designed toilets for disabled passengers. For safety, each coach is equipped with CCTV, along with emergency alarms and aerosol fire extinguisher systems. Other technologies include modern systems such as a driver-guard communication system, crash memory, and a coach monitoring system. The Railways believes that the operation of these new trains will not only provide faster and safer travel for passengers but will also strengthen public confidence in the modern technology of Indian Railways.
