There will be changes in the Central Government Health Scheme

Around 1 crore central government employees and pensioners in the country get benefits through the Central Government Health Scheme. This scheme was started by the Government of India in the year 1954, which now provides facilities in more than 80 cities of the country. Cashless treatment is available in empanelled hospitals through this scheme. These include 1500 government and private hospitals and dispensaries of the country. Cheap medicines are also available under the CGHS scheme.

Recently, a big news related to this scheme has come. The government can make major changes in this scheme. These include facilities like shortage of staff, availability of medicines and connecting private hospitals for subsidized treatment. If this happens, then crores of central government employees and pensioners will benefit greatly from this.

Talking about these changes, new wellness centers can be opened under the CGHS scheme. These include cities like Pune, Bangalore, Nagpur, Balasore, Chennai, Puducherry and Jammu. Apart from these wellness centers, the recruitment process is also going to be started through the Staff Selection Commission to overcome the shortage of staff in the rest of the wellness centers in the country. It has been seen many times that pensioners get delayed in getting medical refund claims. This problem will also be fixed now.
