Good news for women. The Mahila Samriddhi Yojana is set to launch soon in Delhi, and the BJP government is all geared up for it. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has instructed officials to finalize the scheme’s terms and conditions in an upcoming meeting. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised during the elections that the first installment would be given to Delhi’s women on March 8, coinciding with Women’s Day.
The main goal of the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana is to offer financial support to underprivileged women. The government plans to provide Rs 2500 each month to those in need. This initiative was part of the BJP’s election promises in the Delhi Assembly, and now they’re moving forward with its implementation.
However, the specific rules and conditions for the scheme are still being worked out. It’s clear that families with a stable financial situation won’t qualify for this assistance; the focus is solely on women who truly need it.
For those looking to register for the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana, if you’re a voter in Delhi and your family’s finances are tight, there are a few important steps to take before signing up.
First, you’ll need a bank account since the funds will be transferred directly there. If you don’t have one, you can easily open an account at any bank.
Next, make sure your bank account is active. If you haven’t used it in a while, visit your bank branch to complete the KYC process.
Make sure your mobile number is connected to your bank account. Sometimes, an old number might still be linked, so if that’s the case, you’ll need to visit the bank to update it.
As for your Aadhar card, if your mobile number isn’t linked or needs updating, you should take care of that too. It’s important for this scheme that both your Aadhar and bank account are connected.
Regarding the income certificate, this scheme is aimed at women from low-income families, and you might need to get one. The income limit hasn’t been clearly defined yet, but in states like Madhya Pradesh and Odisha, the BJP governments have set it at Rs 2.5 lakh per year. We’re still waiting for the announcement in Delhi. If your family’s income is on the lower side, you can apply for an income certificate.
