New Delhi: Numerous VIP trains are seen speeding on Indian railway tracks. These include the Vande Bharat Express and the Rajdhani Express. The Vande Bharat Sleeper Train will soon be launched. Passengers also receive dinner and lunch on these trains. However, due to departmental negligence, the quality of the food deteriorated, leading to protests from passengers.

Following the widespread outcry, the Railways began offering passengers a no-food option. This allowed them to obtain tickets at a lower cost. However, as people are booking tickets, the no-food option is suddenly missing. The disappearance of the no-food option has sparked criticism from people on social media. The company has now found a solution. However, people are assuming the no-food option has been discontinued.

People are criticising the Railways

After the disappearance of the no-food option, people are criticising the Railways. Himanshu Mukherjee, @Railfann9971, shared a shocking post on the social media platform X today. In this post, he writes, “@RailMinIndia, I’m assuming this is a glitch.

I can’t find the option to choose ‘no food’… @IRCTCofficial, I’m not very keen on trying the super delicious catering available on the train.” This means that passengers no longer have the option to choose ‘no food’. It appears his sarcasm is directed at the Railway Board and the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation, the company that provides catering services on trains.

Find out what’s going on.

VIP trains have been operating in the country under the name Rajdhani Express. Since then, on-board catering has been provided as a part of the service. This arrangement worked well for decades. Many passengers travelled on this train to enjoy the delicious cuisine of the Rajdhani Express. Since 2010, the quality of food served on Rajdhani-Shatabdi Express trains has been particularly poor, causing widespread outrage.

The No Food Option is Available

Indian Railways has begun offering the No Food option on all Rajdhani, Shatabdi, and Duronto Express trains since August 1, 2017. Vende Bharat was not operational at that time, so it is not mentioned in this order. Furthermore, this option has been added to IRCTC’s online ticket booking platform. Consequently, many passengers have begun using this option.
