Bullet Train India- There is a good news for train lovers. Especially if you are also eagerly waiting for bullet train, then this article is for you. India’s first bullet train project is now gaining momentum! If railway sources are to be believed, the trial of bullet train will start in Gujarat by the end of next year i.e. 2026. For this, special Shinkansen trains will be brought to India from Japan.
Under the friendship and strategic partnership of India and Japan, the Japanese government has decided to provide its new generation E10 Shinkansen trains for this corridor. These trains will not only be high speed, but are also considered to be the best in the world in terms of safety and technology. Out of this 508 km long corridor, the trial will be conducted first on a 50 km stretch. That is, the dream of bullet train in India is now moving towards reality.
Speed of Mumbai-Ahmedabad Corridor
The work on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor is going on in full swing. The railways say that this project is progressing according to its set deadline. This 508 km long corridor is being built using Japan’s famous Shinkansen technology, which will set new standards for railways. Trains on this track will not only run fast, but passengers will also get a great experience of safety and comfort. The Railway Ministry has also started working on several alternative routes to give more speed to this project, so that in future bullet trains can travel in more parts of the country.
Railways does not want to be limited to Mumbai-Ahmedabad only. The Railway Ministry has started feasibility studies on many more routes. These include routes like Delhi-Amritsar, Delhi-Banaras, Banaras-Kolkata, Mysore-Chennai, Mumbai-Nashik, Mumbai-Nagpur and Delhi-Ahmedabad. This means that in the coming years, many big cities of the country can be connected at the speed of bullet train. The study on these routes means that the Railways is preparing to expand the network of bullet trains across the country. If everything goes according to plan, a new era of high-speed rail can soon begin in India.
How fast will the bullet train run?
Talking about the speed of the bullet train, the railways have set two standards for it. The operational speed of this train will be 320 km per hour, while the design speed can go up to 350 km per hour. That is, this train will talk to the air! There will be a total of 12 stations between Mumbai and Ahmedabad.
There will be two types of services in it. First, premium service, which will stop at only 4 stations – Mumbai, Surat, Vadodara and Ahmedabad. This train will reach Ahmedabad from Mumbai in just 2 hours 7 minutes. Second, normal service, which will stop at all 12 stations and it will take 2 hours 58 minutes. That is, now the journey of hours will be reduced to minutes!
