If traveling abroad is your plan, here’s an exciting update for Indians. The Philippine government has initiated visa-free entry for Indians from now onwards.Indian tourists can enter the Philippines for 14 days without obtaining a visa. This means that the number of countries Indians can travel to on a visa-free basis has been increased.
According to reports in the media, Indian citizens are currently able to travel to up to 59 countries without obtaining a visa (the Philippines being the most recent addition). The Philippines Embassy in New Delhi reported this whole process has been introduced to promote tourism and strengthen the Indian-Philippine relations. The visa-free entry in the new process is in place for Indians in two categories.
Indian citizens can travel visa-free for 14 days if they follow these rules:
- Travel only for tourism.
- Have a return ticket or proof of next travel.
- No bad immigration history.
- Passport must be valid for at least 6 months.
- Show hotel booking and proof of money for travel.
- If you do not meet these rules, you can apply for an e-visa.
- E-visas let you enter for 30 days, one time.
30-Day Visa-Free Travel
Indians who have a valid visa or permanent residence for the USA, Japan, Australia, Canada, a Schengen country, Singapore, or the UK can travel visa-free for 30 days. The same rules above apply.
Philippines Joins 59 Countries
Indian passport holders can now visit 59 countries without a visa or with a visa-on-arrival. The Henley Passport Index puts Indian passport rank 81 in 2025. Some of the most popular countries include Maldives, Mauritius, Indonesia, Thailand, Bhutan, Nepal, Fiji, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Senegal, Palau, and Vanuatu.
