Northeast Railway is going to start the third line between Gorakhpur and Domingarh. For this work, the railway will do interlocking. Due to this, the operation of many trains running through Gorakhpur will be affected till the end of September. A total of 42 trains, including major trains like Gorakhdham Express, have been canceled. At the same time, the routes of some trains will be changed, and some will be stopped midway.

42 trains canceled from 21 September

According to the Railways, the operation of many trains will be completely stopped from 21 September to 30 September. This includes Gorakhdham Express going from Gorakhpur to Bathinda, many superfast and express trains going from Gorakhpur to Anand Vihar, Mumbai, Pune, Bandra, and Panvel. Apart from this, long-distance trains like Katihar, Darbhanga, Chapra, and Yeshwantpur will also be affected.

Some trains will run on changed routes

Keeping in mind the convenience of passengers, the Railways has diverted some trains. Many trains like Vaishali Express, Bihar Sampark Kranti Express, Gwalior-Barauni Express, Awadh Express, and Kamakhya Express will run via Ayodhya, Varanasi, Sultanpur, Prayagraj, and Kanpur instead of their regular route.

Some trains will stop midway

Some trains will be stopped before their scheduled destination. For example, the express going from Gorakhpur to Thiruvananthapuram will run only till Gomtinagar instead of Gorakhpur on some days. Similarly, trains going to Charlapalli and Yeshwantpur will also start from Gomtinagar and end there.

Passengers will have to make new travel plans

This work will affect thousands of passengers. Railways has already issued a notice regarding this and has requested the passengers to check the updated status of the trains before planning the journey.
